 Meet Ken Schleicher

Finance & Accounting

Ken’s technical background speaks for itself, with over 25 years in finance and accounting.  Ken is an expert resource for any technical or operational accounting or finance issue within an organization.  Additionally, Ken has extensive experience in leadership and management.

And he knows what it’s like to be at the helm of a small company. He has run his own business that focused on consulting with small businesses on all facets of finance, accounting and operations.

As CFO for a wide range of clients, Ken has handled financial systems, financial controls, financial statement design and preparation, policies and procedures, staff development, budget/forecasting and automation of processes, to name just a few.

Prior to starting his own business, Ken was a senior director of finance for an international footwear and clothing company with sales in excess of $1 billion.  While at that company, Ken managed payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, purchasing, and corporate accounting and was controller for a number of administrative divisions.  He also ran numerous task forces, implemented the corporate non-inventory purchasing department, revised departmental and company-wide policies and procedures, and handled all accounting regulations and SEC compliance.

Ken began his career with over 10 years in retail, primarily with an $800 million hard-lines retailer.  While at that company, Ken was a director of nearly every finance department, with particular focus on accounting and planning and analysis.  Of special note: Ken was the finance leader for implementation of an in-house time and attendance system; he developed fully-allocated profit and loss and balance sheets by product category; and he developed the company’s cash management processes when the company went private.

Broad Industry Knowledge

Ken’s experience brings a broad perspective to NextLevel – one that spans a number of industries, including retail, wholesale, manufacturing and insurance.  Beyond this technical expertise, he knows how to work with limited resources to achieve the strategic plans of visionary founders.  Ken has the skill set to evaluate, recommend and implement the necessary changes to the back office to ensure accurate reporting of financial information, efficient processes and well controlled systems.

With an undergraduate degree in business administration from the University of New Hampshire and an MBA from Boston College, Ken offers a complete consulting package available for our clients.
